SEO in your store admin: searches, broken links, ideas
A small shop owner has a Search Console account but doesn't open it for months. There are lots of numbers and it isn't clear what to do with them. Meanwhile, customers search the shop for products they can't find, and old links on Facebook lead to a "not found" page.
Short answer: SEO work is easier when it's gathered where you work every day. Look at four things: queries that are almost on the first page, shop searches with no results, broken links and technical errors.
In the NUNDINAE admin, this is under one menu item: Content › SEO and visibility.
Four things that matter more than anything else
1. Queries almost on the first page. When a page is in position 8–20 on Google, a small amount of work is most useful. Improve the text on that same page rather than writing a new one. A filter finds these queries for you. For that, you need to connect Search Console, which is free, and the data updates every night.
2. Many impressions, few clicks. You're seen but not chosen. Improve that page's title and description.
3. Shop searches with no results. This is the most honest market research there is. A customer wrote what they want and the shop answered "not found". There can be three reasons:
- The product doesn't exist. Maybe it's worth adding to the range.
- The product has a different name. Add a synonym in the settings.
- The question needs a guide. Write a post about it.
4. Broken links. Old addresses that return "page not found". You type the new address, press "Redirect" and a permanent redirect is done. This is especially useful after migrating from an old system.
Technical check
The system gives an SEO health score and a list: missing descriptions, images and alt texts, titles that are too long, categories with no text. A click opens the list and a name takes you straight to the product.
The shop itself gives search engines a sitemap.xml with all visible pages, products and categories in all languages, and a robots.txt. When you change a page's address, a redirect from the old address is created automatically. When shared on social media, a preview appears with an image, title and description.
Where visitors come from
The "Pages and sources" tab shows what's being viewed and where people come from: Google, social media, AI assistants or other sites. The counter is the shop's own and works without cookies, so visitors who refused analytics are also included. Bots are excluded.
If you need more, you can add Google Analytics 4. It's loaded only for visitors who have given consent, and online store events also reach it: viewing, adding to basket and purchase.
AI helps you think, you decide
- Content ideas. AI looks at search queries and shop searches and suggests 8–12 pages or posts with keywords and structure. No personal data is sent there.
- Blog draft. From a topic or voice recording comes a draft you can edit. Links lead only to real products.
- Bulk jobs. Fills in missing meta descriptions and alt texts for all products. You review and approve.
Nothing is saved without a human. AI is optional and limited by a monthly budget. See also AI shopping assistant for an online store. Keyword search volumes are a separate paid option (DataForSEO).
What's still up to you
The tool shows what to fix, but someone still has to write the text, photograph the products and earn the links. Good category text, real guides and trustworthy company information are still work. More on online store category page SEO and local SEO. The tool doesn't guarantee rankings.
A simple monthly routine
- Look at "Almost on the first page" and improve one page.
- Open "Shop search" and add a new synonym or product.
- Redirect broken links.
- Fix rows marked "important" in the technical check.
- Write one post based on the content ideas.
This takes a couple of hours a month and usually gives more than big one-off projects.
Frequently asked questions
Do I still need Search Console?
Yes, the data comes from there. You connect it with a service account key, and a guide is available on the tab. For deeper analysis it also remains available separately.
Do I need Analytics?
Not necessarily. The shop's own statistics give an overview. GA4 is useful if you want to measure advertising and conversions more precisely.
Does this improve rankings automatically?
No. The system shows what to do and handles the technical part. The result depends on content and competition.
