Projektiassistent expands to Finland

On 8 August 2026 we launched projektiassistentti.fi — the Finnish version of Projektiassistent on its own .fi domain.

Projektiassistent is the AI-powered project management platform that ArborIT designed, built and develops: enter a project idea and the AI produces a structured project plan in minutes — scope, tasks, schedule, risks and budget. It now does the same in Finnish, and according to the rules of the Finnish project world.

Not a translation, but a local edition

The easy route would have been to add a language switcher to the Estonian site and call it done. We didn't, because a translated site rarely sells as well as a local one.

  • Its own domain. To a Finnish user, projektiassistentti.fi is a local service, not a foreign product that happens to have a Finnish subpage.
  • Its own funding logic. Finnish projects apply for money from different sources than Estonian ones — Business Finland, for example. The AI takes local funding instruments and their conditions into account when it builds the plan.
  • Its own vocabulary. "Projektisuunnitelma", "välitavoitteet", "riskianalyysi" — project management terms don't map one to one between languages, and the wrong word exposes an outsider immediately.
  • Its own content. The site has its own blog, its own comparisons and its own examples, not a machine translation of the Estonian content.

Why Finland — and what success there means for us

Finland was a deliberate first choice, not an accident.

  • The market is many times larger than Estonia's and it is next door: the same time zone, a similar working culture, and a tradition of project funding that is considerably longer and denser than ours.
  • Project-based funding is everyday business in Finland. If a project plan has to satisfy a funder's requirements anyway, a tool that gets that structure right by itself saves real hours.
  • Digital tools are adopted quickly and the threshold for trying something new is low — which is why the front page says "Kokeile ilmaiseksi" (try it free) rather than presenting a sales form.
  • Language is a protective barrier. The Finnish-language market is not easy ground for English-only global tools, and that leaves room for a solution that is in Finnish from the start.

For us, success in Finland means two things. The first is Projektiassistent's own growth: every new market where the product works with local funding and local terminology makes it less of "an Estonian tool" and more of a product that can be taken into the next country. The second is proof for ArborIT itself — we don't recommend going international as a theory, we have done it with our own product.

What this means for ArborIT's clients

If you are planning to take your service or online store to another market, the technical choices matter more at the start than they appear to: a separate domain or a language folder, hreflang references, local copy, local examples and local SEO. A wrong decision here is paid for later in rankings.

We walked exactly that road with Projektiassistent. ArborIT's own site is also in five languages, so multilingual structure is not a theoretical chapter for us.

See the result for yourself: projektiassistentti.fi and the Estonian projektiassistent.ee. More of our work is on the portfolio page.
