We are glad to report that we can once again smell fresh ink — the book “Estonians in the Finnish and German Forces 1940–1945” arrived from the printer today. This is volume 14 in the Estonian Memento Union's book series.
The content of “Estonians in the Finnish and German Forces 1940–1945” is a register of Estonians and their lives — people who served in the Finnish and German forces between 1940 and 1945. These are full records in a list of surnames covering the letters A–J. The book contains 14,039 personal entries and runs to 548 pages.
Our lead contractor Raul Juurma was responsible for the entire book layout, tidying the register, statistical analysis of the processed data, photo editing and communication with the ministry, the Office of the President and the printing house.
Two more books in the same series are in progress, bringing together the names K–L (volume 15) and M–Y (volume 16).

In a work of 548 pages and more than fourteen thousand records, readability is decided by consistency in the layout — we wrote at greater length about what book layout involves and what the price depends on in a separate article.
